Measurement & Mechanics

This laboratory setup includes essential measuring instruments and mechanics apparatus designed to support precise observation and practical understanding of physical principles. Measuring tools such as vernier calipers and micrometer screw gauges enable highly accurate measurement of dimensions, while meter scales provide standard length measurement. Stopwatches are used for recording time intervals in experiments, and beam or physical balances, along with spring balances, help determine mass and force respectively.

For the study of mechanics, the setup includes pendulum bobs for both simple and compound pendulum experiments, allowing the analysis of oscillatory motion. Spring sets, including coil and leaf types, are used to study elasticity and Hooke’s law. Wooden blocks and pulley systems facilitate experiments related to motion, friction, and mechanical advantage. Additionally, the parallelogram law apparatus is provided to demonstrate vector addition and force resolution. Altogether, this arrangement supports hands-on learning and accurate experimentation in fundamental physics concepts.
